DEGORGING

Degorging is the disposal of the collected and hardened deposit along with the cork, which is performed under the pressure of carbon dioxide, created during afterfermentation. Before the disposal the deposit is frozen by placing the bottle neck into a special solution. The deposit disposal at Artwinery is fully automated. It is to be noted that only a few global leading champagne and sparkling wine manufacturers have similar automatic degorging lines at their production facilities.

Opened bottles are fed to the liqueur dispensing machine for adding expedition liqueur. The volume of liqueur determines sparkling grade: extra brut, brut, dry, semidry or semi sweet. After that bottles are corked, fixed with metal muzzles and transported to control ageing.
